A Day Crafting | Cousin's Handicraft

H

ello readers & salam #hebat!

This actually happened few months ago. I planned to blog about it right after we finished but I seemed to forgot :p This morning I browse through my phone pictures and found the pictures that made me realized. TEEEHEE! So, here's my crafting memories!

I love to participate in contests, giveaways and lucky draws. Fortunately, I was one of the winner of a giveaway and I won a craft starter kit. The starter kit was safely kept in my room when it arrived home because I have no idea how to use them. hehehe. My cousin who loves to make handicrafts came to my home. So that was a GREAT timing!! I asked her to make felt crafts with me using the starter kit I won.

For the very first felt craft, we made a small teddy bear keychain. For visual reference, we used a teddy bear felt keychain I got from Bambam's Story - another giveaway that I won :)

Here's the cute keychain from Bambam's Story :)

We started the crafting process. Yeahhh ~

Here's the starter kit I got from NADICRAFT
Some felt, cotton, buttons, strips, etc.

Firstly, we cut the felt paper according to the lines which assembles
the 2D shape of a bear's face. 2 pieces - front and behind :D

Next step was to make the nose and mouth. We used buttons for eyes.

cutting more felt papers!

For the first piece, we sewed buttons for eyes and yellow
felt paper to be more detailed.

We then sewed the two piece of cut(ed) felt paper together at the sides. We left the upper part open. It is a space to put in the cottons. After that, we sewed the whole thing.

Sewed here and there and tadaaaa.. a keychain was made! It looks okay isn't it? ;)

So here's the craft table. HAHAHAHA. Messy to the fullest!

Then, it was craft photo taking session! hehehe.

Happy family. Two craft keychains, name badge and .. angry bird? HAHAHA.

To be honest, I did very less work since I'm seriously not good in doing stuffs like this. I did the photo taking and cutting part only. I thank my cousin for spending the afternoon crafting with me!

So that you guys know, my cousin is a wheelchair bound. Although she's living a tough life, she's a well-determine woman and does handicraft on most of her time. She's actually selling her handicrafts to those who are interested. Most of her products are made of beads/manik.

Here are some of her wonderful and unique traditional products :

Very very beautiful. Hangat di pasaran! :)

If anyone is eager to know more about these products (price, characteristics, etc) ... feel free to contact me, Joel Leslie. I'll try my best to help :)

That's her - first person on the left :)

that's me pushing her during 2010 Christmas Parade! She came along feeling so happy! :D

p/s: I have a great cousin here! Come and show your support towards her! :D

That's it. Thank you!
